The Tale of Lord Avarice

While passing through the area where merchants sell all manner of culinary delights, His Grace Conn was approached by a rather unsavory youth. He spun a tale of revenge and desperation, stating that he would be willing to tell Duke Conn of the quest's final location for a small compensation, such as some drink, or ale, or even coin. The Viscount of Northshield told the pathetic lad, in no uncertain terms, that the quest was a noble one, and he would not the road of ease to reach and unworthy quick reward. Remarking that the lad should perhaps study the scripture more, he continued toward the Red Knight.

This pious monk has heard tales that had the Knight accepted Lord Avarice's offer, he would have been lead to a far and remote place, almost to where tourneyers compete in the Woods. There would have been a box with a maze leading to a key. All keys would have opened the box, and inside was a message, stated "Your greed has cost you your honor and valuable time. Repent and continue."

It is fortunate that the inspiration of Viscountess Kassandra helps to keep his Grace Conn on the path of virtue and nobility, and he did not succumb to this vice.

And the Quest continued…
