In the center of an encampment is a large and tall tower, in the center of which, trapped within, is a fair maiden. His Grace Conn and his faithful squire Aubery approach the tower, and three men - a knight and two of his squires, surround the two, and demand that they leave. His Grace declines, stating that the woman shall first be freed and that "we would stand against you even if you numbered ten to our two." He asked Lord Lust if he would yield twice, but he refused, and so the fight begin. While Aubery fought one of the squires, Conn quickly dispached another and came to Aubery's side, but not before Aubery was defeated. However, he survived long enough for Conn to dispatch the second squire. Sir Conn turned his attention to Lord Lust, and in a mighty back His Grace was victorious. The grateful Lady Annette was freed from the tower, and gave them this clue:
"Scribe a line you now must do,
Betwixt these points which number two:
Where Stone with Runes is fixed and famed.
Point in Lake for Willow is named."
