The Tale of the Questing Knights

With great sadness Duke Sir Dag Thorgrimson announced to all that the beloved Dragon's Egg has been stolen from the Kingdom of the Middle! To retrieve it, he called forth to all Knights and Royal Peers to bring their squires and quest for the stolen Dragon's Egg. The Quest would take them all through the Pennsic Lands, and they would be faced with many tests of Chivalry on their way to their goal. They could bring anyone they wish, and would be given the services of a monk to help guild their journey. The Quest would take most of the day, and the Knights and Peers would have to decide where to go, when to fight, and when to think. It would be a grand challenge, but when has any quest ever been easy?

The ground was damp and storm clouds blew overhead, but Sir Conn MacNiell took the field in the grand tournament, using his arms to be one of the chosen to quest for the missing Dragon's Egg. He fought under the arms of his lady, Her Excellency the Viscountess of Northshield, artisan of the order of the Willow, Kassandra Tenebrosa, who inspires him to work to achieve all qualities that a Knight should possess.

In honorable combat he had the opportunity to cross swords with Viscountess Ysolde Summerhall of Riga, Vicount Sir Robert of Woodsend, Count Sir Jehan de la Marche, Viscount Sir Bear the Wallsbane, Sir Corbey de la Flamme, Earl Sir Brion Thronbird Ap Rhys, Count Sir Garick von Kopfkey, and Sir Aaron Graves.. The tourney was such that because of the prowess, skills, and honor of the Knights and Royal Peers present, all were chosen by the assembled Ladies of the Court to continue on and quest for the missing egg.

The Questers were given the opportunity to choose a monk to guide them. This monk knew they lay of the land and many of its tales. However, the monk would not be able to aid in the quest, only advice the Knight of things he might need to know, and record his travels. Duke Conn asked for a virtuous and pious monk, and since he did not ask for one who possessed a great quantity of humility, I stepped forward and offered my humble yet hopefully adequate services as guide and observer.

And so it was that Duke Sir Conn MacNiell, his most worthy squire Aubery, his most noble and wise lady Viscountess Kassandra Tenebrosa, and their household attendents Erec d'Grenloc, Nickodeme Shire, and Seraphina de Lawarr, with banners flying, walked off to meet their destiny.

And the Quest began…
